Sony Shows New Mobile Devices At IFA 2014

Sony made a splash with a few new mobile devices announced at IFA 2014. Sony has revealed the Xperia Z3 Series and two new wearables. Sony made some noise at IFA 2014 with many new mobile devices.

The Sony Xperia Z3 Series includes two high end smartphones and a tablet. The flagship smartphone announced would be the Xperia Z3. The Xperia Z3 has a 20.7 megapixel rear facing camera, a 1080p 5.2 inch display, and a few new ways to save battery life. The Xperia Z3 Compact is the exact same device as the Xperia Z3, but smaller. The Xperia Z3 Compact comes with a 4.7 inch 720p display with all other specifications being nearly the same as the Xperia Z3. The Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact is an eight inch device with a 1080p display. The new compact slate also comes with key high end specifications such as a Snapdragon 801 chipset, an eight megapixel rear facing camera, and enhanced audio features. The Xperia Z3 Series is Sony’s best in the mobile world at the moment.

Sony also introduced two new wearables. Sony announced the SmartWatch 3 and SmartBand Talk. The SmartWatch 3 runs Google’s Android Wear operating system. The SmartBand Talk focuses on health and outdoor activities.

Sony also announced a mid-range smartphone. The Xperia E3 comes with a Snapdragon 400 chipset as well as other mid-range specifications. The Xperia E3 does not have water and dust resistance like the devices from the Xperia Z3 Series.

Sony had a strong line-up of new products at IFA 2014. Sony looks to start selling the new mobile products to consumers sometime this fall.
