Sony announced it’s first Android smartphone of 2015 this past week.
Sony has revealed the Xperia E4 which is a low to mid range handset. The Xperia E4 comes with a 5 inch qHD (540 x 960) IPS display. The handset also supports a two megapixel front facing camera and a five megapixel rear facing camera. Sony has decided to use a MediaTek MT6582 chipset which is a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. The smartphone also packs an ARM Mali-400 MP2 GPU. The Xperia E4 has 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage with support for a microSD card. A 2300mAh battery is also under the hood.
Recent Xperia handsets have maintained Sony’s OmniBalance design. The Xperia E4 continues that trend, but with a few changes. The Xperia E4 is a more rounded handset when compared to other modern Xperia devices.
Ths Xperia E4 is running Android. Some sources report that the mobile device runs Android 4.4.4 while other sources report that the handset will run Android 5.0 at launch.
Sony has started 2015 off in the mobile market by introducing a new low to mid range smartphone to attempt to compete with Samsung and others.
