Sony Announces It’s Revival Plan For Returning To Profitability


Sony recently revealed it’s revival plan this past week and will focus on businesses that bring in profits.

Sony’s revival plan focusses mainly on PlayStation and digital imaging. Sony plans to expand the PlayStation Network’s library. Sony will also focus on movies, music, and entertainment.

Sony may not look for sales growth in it’s television and mobile businesses. Sony’s president and CEO Kazuo Hirai made interesting comments regarding the television and mobile businesses. Hirai’s comments suggested that Sony may venture or completely exit the television and mobile markets. An official decision on the television and mobile businesses hasn’t been announced yet.

Sony’s revival plan is for the next three fiscal years and ends on March 31, 2018 which would mark the end of fiscal year 2017. Sony plans to have a 500 billion yen ($4.2 billion) profit at the end of the revival plan.
