Apple’s March 9, 2015 Event Recap


Apple made some big announcements this past Monday at an event which brought new details on many products.

Apple announced new software known as ResearchKit. ResearchKit is software from Apple that is open source to help discover cures for illnesses and diseases. Apple iPhones will be able to gather data of users which may provide information relating to health. The new software is secure and optional to users.

Some news regarding the Apple TV was also revealed. The Apple TV will get a price drop. The device was $99 and will now be worth $69. Apple TV, as well as other products from the company, will get exclusive access to HBO Now. HBO Now is a streaming service that will come to other competitors soon, but Apple will be the first company to support the new service. HBO Now will cost $14.99 per month.

Apple unveiled it’s latest MacBook. The new MacBook is the company’s thinnest and lightest laptop measuring just 13.1mm thin and only weighs two pounds. Apple’s new laptop has a Retina display, new track pad with Force Touch technology, and a redesigned keyboard. The new MacBook does not have a fan or high end processor. The MacBooks will start at $1,299 and $1,599.

The biggest announcement that may have come from this Apple event could have been of the company’s new smartwatch. New information arrived regarding the Apple Watch. The most affordable Apple Watch model is known as the Sport Edition which will cost customers $349. The most expensive model of the Apple Watch will cost a consumer $17,000. Pricing of Apple’s new wearable depends on the various bands and sizes available to those who are interested in the product.

The Apple Event of March 9, 2015 contained many new announcements. The new MacBooks and Apple Watch should be ready by next month for purchase. Apple had a very interesting event which came with new software and hardware.
