Apple does a great job with it’s iPhone line up. The Apple iPhone 6 was launched in the fall of 2014 and is an excellent option for anyone who wants a high end device with a simple experience. Apple has once again done a pretty good job with the latest iPhone model.
Apple’s iPhone 6 receives a 9 out of 10 based on the LaserPost Network Review Guidelines. The iPhone 6 is a mobile device that can do a great job taking photos and videos, browsing the web, and other daily tasks. The iPhone 6 falls short in a few minor areas such as battery power, speakers, and even in design for a few individuals.
There are many positives for the Apple iPhone 6. Apple packs the device with great specifications such as a decent 4.7 inch display which provides a good viewing experience. The camera might be only 8 megapixels, but does a great job taking images and capturing videos. The iPhone 6 has a very thin design as well as a good feel in the hand.
Positives continue with Touch ID, Apple’s fingerprint scanner. Touch ID is improved and can detect fingerprints very quickly. Apple managed to also include the A8 chipset which keeps the device chugging along well.
Apple’s iOs software is as simple as a mobile operating system might get. iOs 8 comes pre installed on the iPhone 6. iOs 8 isn’t the most stable version of Apple’s mobile operating system, but is quite easy to navigate. Apple may just want to release a few software updates to make a bug free user experience. Users who like to customize every aspect of their device won’t be thrilled as iOs has limitations regarding customization. Software on the iPhone 6 is pretty good, but could definitely use a few improvements.
Apple has created split opinions when it comes to design. Many adore how thin the iPhone 6 is, but others criticize the handset for possibly bending. The antenna markings on the back of the iPhone 6 also aren’t going to win Apple design awards. The thin design means that a small battery cell powers the device. A little thickness doesn’t always hurt as battery life could have been better for the iPhone 6.
Apple also has a camera bump on the rear of the iPhone 6. That camera might do a good job capturing content, but could also scratch easily if not taken care of properly. Some also would have liked Apple to increase the megapixel count from 8 to something a bit higher. Optical image stabilization isn’t on board either which means that some images and videos might not be as stable.
Sound quality on the iPhone 6 is okay. The speakers are located at the bottom of the device, but aren’t the loudest. The iPhone 6 speakers only provide a decent listening experience.
Apple did a fine job with the iPhone 6, but this handset might not be the best from the company. The iPhone 6 Plus has a 5.5 inch screen, an 8 megapixel camera with OIS, and a larger battery pack. The iPhone 6 is just a smaller version of the iPhone 6 Plus with a few unfortunate let downs.
Apple has nearly hit a homerun with the iPhone 6, but could have made a few improvements along the way. The iPhone 6 excels in day to day performance, capturing content with it’s camera, and providing a decent software experience. Design, bending concerns, and battery life might be a concern or issue for some users. Apple’s iPhone 6 is a great smartphone, but isn’t the best one in today’s smartphone universe.
