Sony Xperia Z5 Series Rumors Spark Again

Rumors started a while back and now have returned regarding the Sony Xperia Z5 series.

Sony is expected to use the Snapdragon 820 SoC for the Xperia Z5 series. The Sony Xperia Z5 series may also include a fingerprint scanner and 4GB of RAM.

Details regarding the displays for the Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, and Xperia Z5 Ultra were not detailed. We can assume that the Xperia Z5 will have a medium sized display. The Xperia Z5 Compact Is expected to feature a display that is smaller than the Xperia Z5. The Xperia Z5 Ultra will most likely feature a larger display than the Xperia Z5.

The Xperia Z5 smartphone might come packed with a massive 4500mAh battery. A 20.7 or 21 megapixel rear facing camera with a Sony Exmor RS IMX230 CMOS sensor is expected to be featured on the Xperia Z5. The rear facing camera on the Xperia Z5 is rumored to have 4K video recording and HDR capabilities.

New rumors point to Sony sticking to it’s OmniBalance design found on current Xperia flagship smartphones while older rumors pointed to a new design language being developed for the Xperia Z5. Older rumors also pointed to the Xperia Z5 Ultra being the only Sony handset to feature a fingerprint scanner.

Sony might announce the Xperia Z5 sometime in September. Japan may see the smartphone get unveiled first. We do not know if the Xperia Z5 Compact and Xperia Z5 Ultra will launch alongside the Xperia Z5 in September.
