The Kansas City Chiefs and linebacker Justin Houston have agreed on a long term contract prior to the NFL’s franchise tag deadline.
Justin Houston signed a six year deal worth $101 million. The deal comes with $52.5 million in guartentees and a $20.5 million signing bonus. $32.5 million are fully guaranteed.
Justin Houston now has the largest contract for any linebacker and Chiefs’ player. Houston’s deal is also the second largest for any NFL defender.
The star Chiefs linebacker had 22 sacks in the 2014 season and nearly broke the NFL’s single season sack record.
The Chiefs now get to hold onto one of the league’s best defenders for a long time.
