Apple iPhone 6s & iPhone 6s Plus First Impressions

Apple has recently announced it’s new and latest smartphone line up which comes with some mixed feelings. The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are very familiar, but come with some improvements.

The new Apple iPhones are similar to last year’s models. The iPhone 6s has a 4.7 inch screen while the iPhone 6s Plus has a 5.5 inch display. The display sizes match last year’s models display sizes. The design is also unchanged.

Specifications do see a bump up from last year. A 12 megapixel rear camera, A9 chipset, and 2GB of RAM are powering the new handsets. The major disappointment comes with battery capacity. This year’s iPhones come with smaller batteries when compared to last year’s models.

3D Touch has been a big new feature found on the new iPhones. 3D Touch allows a user to press onto the screen of their device with different amounts of force. The amount of force used offers different functionality for the user.

iOS 9 will be pre installed onto the new batch of iPhones. The new software brings improvements to Siri, searching options, and multitasking. Apple still hasn’t brought anything to the table like Android’s widgets. iOS 9 should has a low battery mode which may help out heavy users.

The new iPhones come with a rose gold color option which really just looks like the color pink. Apple hasn’t added anymore changes to the exterior to it’s smartphones.

4K video recording is a new camera feature. Storage options haven’t changed which means a user must be careful when using this new feature. The screen of the new iPhones can also be used as a front facing flash when taking photos with the front camera.

Apple has made a pair of devices that are very similar to last year’s models, but some new features could make the new smartphones stand out. Apple may not have done enough to compete with Samsung, Sony, or even Microsoft in the mobile market as competition gets better and better. Apple has made solid devices for now, but it hasn’t made the best smartphone on the market.
